Hello Green Collar Hiring Manager, My name is Joseph Palermo and I am seeking a career opportunity with your company. My resume highlights broad skills and abilities with years of combined Industry knowledge. I am confident that I would be a great addition to your team and have a lot to offer in helping your company succeed. I am reaching out to you because I have recently begun a new job hunt process due to the closing of the company of which worked 5 years. Recent resume information is being provided for any position openings that you may see as a good fit considering my experience, background, and qualifications. My personal interests have increased with the Green Initiative economy in preserving and enhancing environmental quality and transforming from blue-collar jobs to those that provide opportunity for advancement along a career track of increasing skills and wages. The goal is to land the right Green–Collar position within the growing Green Industries. I am a "Foody" at heart combined with Business smarts and start-up entrepreneur attitude. Somehow linking the Go Green Industry with the Food Service Industry would be the best fit or passion as they say. The possibilities could be a brand new job requiring new skill sets/training or an existing job being transitioned to a clean energy economy. I can be positioned within the back end-back office corporate side or retail front end of a company working in department areas such as: project manager, team leader, e-commerce, internet online services, finance, facilities, administrative, operations, sales, marketing pr, or advertising. These are all functional areas that I can bring something to the table in utilizing my professional Business experience to deliver a Product, achieve profits, and provide continuous avenues for growth. A work location in center city Philadelphia would be ideal or the surrounding suburban areas.

I am most interested in doing work in the media industry; helping citizens and/or activist groups put their images, programs, and services out to the community at large by producing documentaries or short films about their work and putting them on TV. Also producing radio shows that address key issues and energizes the community to take positive action. I love providing ministerial services to the community as well. I am the only non-denominational, inter-faith minister registered with City Hall in Philadelphia. I Love teaching Civics classes that teach the community and especially activist how to properly defend themselves against police, city agencies, court battles, credit issues, etc. How to get the most out of government while not falling victim to the bureaucracy, corruption, and apathy. Here is a small bio for your review: I am a Yamassee Native American from Coquannock/[Philadelphia] who has since the age of sixteen found that having a strong knowledge of self, heritage and culture has helped to shape my future and give me a strong sense of mission. I share my life with my wife Afiya and our beautiful children Harold, Tyreice, Jalil, and Nyazia. In 2004 I became a Moorish-Science (Non-Denominational/Inter-Faith) Minister and then offered Modern Standard Arabic Courses (called The Lugah Lodge)which were funded by the University of Pennsylvania & Civics classes at the Direct Connection/Overbrook Farms Elementary School/52nd & Locust Sts; for a year; and then at the New Africa Center/ICPIC 4243 Lancaster Avenue for three years. In 2007 I became a registered clergy of the Mayor’s Office of Faith Based Initiatives. Because of my motivating lectures and workshops, I am becoming a frequent keynote speaker at various houses of worship including Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church and Holy Redeemer Church; as I continue to provide a universal message of love, faith, civic responsibility and self-determination. I have served as an elected official for City & County of Philadelphia (Committee Person in the 60th Ward/9th Division/ neighborhood surrounding Black Oak/Malcolm X Park) since 2006; whereby I have organized and hosted numerous events in the park (including the annual Natural New Years/March 21st & Summer Solstice Jams every June 21st) for the youth and the community at large. I also serve as an Intergovernmental Liason for the Indigenous Peoples Heritage Society whereby I interface with Occupying Officials (federal, state & municipal agencies) in regards to indigenous peoples’ unalienable rights and immunities in law. I am the founder of King Summer Stable on 40th & Ogden Sts; in which summer-campers attend learn how groom, ride, and maintain horses and ponies. In 2005 Mahdi El founded the Young Broadcasters of America which teaches young people how to pursue a career in the Radio and Television industries. YBA members (ages 9-19) have hosted their own radio shows (called “Young World” & “Q-Files” respectively) on various stations including: WSKR 97.7FM ; WURD 900AM; Q-102 FM; as well as internet giants www.pacifica.org & WWW.RADIOVOLTA.ORG. Hear clips of the various shows visit: www.myspace.com/ybaclub. YBA currently hosts events at our headquarters, The LAVA Space (4134 Lancaster Avenue Philadelphia, Penn. [19104]) every other Saturday from 10PM-2AM. Young Broadcasters of America have secured a membership with MIND TV/ www.mindtv.org (formerly WYBE) in order to broadcast our “Young World” & “Episodez” TV Shows; which will be aired on their station (Channel 35/Comcast Cable Channel 20). Mahdi triumphs by using faith and deep spirituality to overcome and succeed. I thank you for your support and consideration!!!

I am most interested in working on the grassroots level in policymaking. I have both graduate and undergraduate coursework in environmental policy, and would like to put it to practical use in the Philadelphia area. I have worked with children through the Delaware State Parks AmeriCorps program, and have worked with academics, industry leaders, activists, and the media during my time as an officer in my school's chapter of Students for the Environment. Whether the title is analyst, field associate, or issue associate, I am excited to start a career that will help preserve the natural beauty I have grown up appreciating.
